Do dan does biasa digunakan dalam Simple Present Tense dan di gunakan dalam kalimat tanya. Pertanyaan yang sering diajukan adalah: kapan menggunakan “do” dan “does”?
1. Bila suatu kalimat menggunakan verb 1 dan subject yang digunakan adalah I, You, We, They, maka untuk kalimat tanya harus menggunakan do.
Contoh :
*They go to the park every morning. (Verb 1)
Do they go to the park?
*You have to study hard before the test. (Verb 1)
Do you have to study hard before the test?
* We have to go now.
Do we have to go now?
2. Bila suatu kalimat menggunakan verb 1 + (s ) dan subject yang digunakan adalah He, She, It, maka untuk kalimat tanya harus menggunakan does.
Contoh:
* She prepares breakfast for her parents every morning.
Does she prepare breakfast for her parents every morning?
* He lives by the beautiful lake in the village.
Does he live by the beautiful lake in the village?
